Obituary of George Edsil McCorison

George “Eddie” Edsil McCorison, 94, of Carlton, died July 30, 2024 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, MN.

He was born August 16, 1929 to parents Edsil and Mary Ann McCorison.

George served in the Army for three years in Korea. He was proud to provide for his family and with his multiple talents, built their home. He also worked as a mechanic, carpenter, delivery driver, handyman and roofer. He and his roofing crew (his brothers) are known for tiling the steep bell tower on the Cloquet Catholic Church. His primary occupation for over 28 years was driving school bus and doing mechanic work for ISD 709.

George loved fishing Seven Beavers and loved his boat “No Proplem” that took an untold number of trips to Isle Royale.

George was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tamie; parents; and siblings, Jenny Hoffman, Oris, Joseph and Frank Kriske.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 74 years, Dorothy (Lamirande) McCorison; children, Steven (Shari), Jennifer (Darrell) Pedersen, Julie (Miles) Schumacher, Thomas (Karen), Carol (Art) Gist, David (Nicole), and Daniel (Mary Jo); and 54 grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and siblings Daniel, Chet (Carole), and Mary Ann (Jack) Markasich.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 3rd at the home of Art and Carol Gist.
