Obituary of Rita Hanson

Marguerite Elizabeth Hanson (Bohart)

April 8, 1944 – July 20, 2024

Marguerite (Rita) grew up in Duluth MN but has spent most of her adult life in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, most recently in Coon Rapids, MN. She attended Duluth East High School and graduated in 1962. Following graduation, she attended the St. Luke’s School of Nursing and was a lifelong nurse in many hospitals in Duluth and in the Twin Cities. Rita retired in 2005. In retirement, she and Hartman spent many years at their place in Arizona.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Margaret Bohart (Miller), and her son Vince Taylor.  

Rita is survived by her husband, Hartman Hanson, a sister Bonnie Niemi (Bohart), brothers-in-law, Gerald Niemi and Les Rickard, sisters-in-law Carol Hanson and Jan Hanson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and good friend, Margaret Nelson.

A private ceremony will be held later. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in Rita’s name to Parkinson’s Foundation.
