Obituary of LoriAnn Regina (Schulke) Schug
LoriAnn Regina (Schulke) Schug was born to Wallace and Jeanne Schulke on February 22, 1963, in Alexandria, MN. After high school, Lori attended Minnesota State University Mankato and graduated with a BS degree. She was employed in the medical device industry, ending her career at ICU Medical, making lifelong friends at every job.
Lori loved spending time in the North Woods, and visiting the North Shore was her absolute passion. It is here that she met the love of her life, Michael Schug. They married on September 10, 1999, in Duluth, MN. Being a proud mother of Nickolas, Lori treasured being a part of his activities while capturing the moments with photographs, making plentiful memories. She became a semi-pro photographer and made great friends through her photography adventures. Lori enjoyed traveling to remote locations to get the perfect picture. She was also an avid agate hunter and attended many rock (agate) shows. Her personality was infectious, and she made friends wherever she went.
Lori enjoyed spending time outdoors at the “Bear Hook” in Wright, MN, enjoying the abundant wildlife, four-wheeling, making trails, relaxing around a roaring bonfire, and entertaining friends and family with adult beverages.
Lori’s active, fun-filled life came to an end on July 10, 2024, after fighting a courageous five-year battle with cancer. This world will miss her beautiful smile and laughter in all whose lives Lori has touched. She leaves behind a massive imprint from the way she loved and encouraged others with her heartfelt interactions. Her legacy reminds us to embrace life to the fullest and not to take life for granted, as it is a gift to be embraced.
