Obituary of Nita Jacobs

Nita (Hauser) Jacobs, age 73, of Minnetonka, passed away May 2, 2016. Born May 29, 1942 in Webster City, IA to Cyril and Alice Hauser, Nita married Bill Jacobs on March 31, 1962. Nita was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. She was a wonderful singer, a member of the Iowa State University Singers, a 25 year soprano in the Minnetonka Symphony Chorus, she sang with Choral Reflections of Minnetonka, and she was very active in her church choir. She was also an avid sports fan, particularly fond of hockey and girls' basketball. She was a member of her High School girls' basketball team in Williams, IA. Preceded in death by her parents, Nita is survived by her husband Bill and 3 siblings, Rolland Hauser (Maureen) of Chico, CA; Dennis Hauser (Charlene) of Manly, IA; and Gayle Kloewer (Leo) of York, NB; 2 children, Steve (DeAnn) of Frontenac, MO; Hollie Briggs (Dan) of Pickerington, OH; and three beautiful granddaughters, Kelly and Erin Jacobs, and Jordan Briggs. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 11th at 11 AM at St. David's Episcopal Church, 13000 St Davids Road, Minnetonka. Visitation one hour prior to the service and reception following. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. David's Episcopal Church.
