Obituary of Blanche Schuett
Blanche Schuett, age 90, passed away peacefully May 3, 2016. Blanche was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was known for her many talents and interests, but most of all her sewing and knitting. Her proudest accomplishments included knitting baby blankets for her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and sewing for many family occasions including making bridesmaid dresses for all her children’s weddings. Along with her sewing and knitting talents, Blanche also had a passion for tending roses, camping, traveling, birds (especially cardinals), crossword puzzles and baking.
Blanche was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Orv, for 70 years. She was Orv’s biggest cheerleader during all of his baseball, softball and most recently his (Wii) bowling activities. The pair shared many happy years of retirement in Mesa, Arizona; a place that will forever hold precious memories for their extended family.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Caroline Sisson and her seven siblings: Eunice, Gordon, Dorothy, Harold, Ralph, Carol and Twylla. She is survived by her beloved husband, Orv; three children: Dale (Colleen) Schuett, Jackie (Terry) Nerhus and Ann (Marv) Kulseth; four grandchildren: Lissa (Scott) Jordon, Erik (Liz) Nerhus, Paul (Jennifer) Kulseth and Molly (Kevin) Rollwagen; seven great-grandchildren: Lauren Nerhus, Paige Jordon, Blake Nerhus, Stella Kulseth, Sophie Kulseth, Cole Jordon and Grace Rollwagen and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to charity of donor’s choice.
