Obituary of Dolores Duffy
Dolores "Dee" Duffy, the most beautiful soul, passed away on June 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 30, 1939, Dee lived a life with kindness, generosity, and love that touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Dee was always ready with a smile and kind words. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds! She dedicated her life to helping others; whether rocking babies at Children's Hospital, volunteering at Mount Olivet or in schools, or providing unwavering support and love to friends and family. You can certainly see that Dee leaves behind a world made better by her presence, and a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Prior to children, Dee worked as a Labor & Delivery nurse for many years, fostering her love of babies. Once her own children were in High School, she went on to work at the Hatzung Insurance Agency until she retired.
Dee's kindness and love were the cornerstone of her life. Dee was a devoted wife to her late husband, Thomas Duffy; a nurturing mother to Patrick (Kathy) and Lynn (Larry), as well as the beloved grandmother to Chris Ederer, Katelyn Ederer, Dustin (Maggie) Duffy, Arsenio (Stephanie) Richardson. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Roswell, Rosemarie, and Ruby Duffy; and Deuce and Malik Richardson. Dee was preceeded in death by her parents, Polly and Tommy Hays. Dee was also survived by her brother Brad (Pattie) Hays, 5 additional sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, countless nieces & nephews, and even more friends!
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at noon, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55415. There will be a visitation one hour prior. For those who cannot attend, a live stream will be available: https://mtolivet.org/livestream/ .
Special thanks to the amazing staff at The Beehive of Maple Grove, and Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to The Alzheimer's Association.
