Obituary of Kathryn Ann Palmquist
Kathryn Ann Palmquist passed away May 19, 2024. Kathy's birthday was October, 19, 1940. She was the middle child of Harry and Verna Miller of Minneapolis, MN. Growing up she and her brother and sister had a great childhood. They would spend summers swimming, biking, and playing both around the house and out at the farm. Kathy graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN and attended college at Macalester College and the University of Minnesota earning her Bachelor degree in Interior Design.Kathy did not enjoy blind dates or going to the dentist. There was one day when she went to the dentist and laughed all the way home. Much to her surprise her dentist wanted to set her up on a blind date. That blind date became the love of her life. On November 21,1964 approximately 6 months after meeting, Jon and Kathy married each other and the dentist "Jim" became her brother-in-law. Jon and Kathy lived in Minneapolis, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Andover. In her spare time, Kathy liked to sew, knit, read, and do counted cross stitch. Kathy also enjoyed playing cards with the neighbors. Kathy and Jon spent many hours on a motorcycle together going for rides "on the bike" as well as touring by motorcycle.
Kathy's world revolved around her family. She leaves behind her children Lynn and Susie (Vern), grandchildren Joshua, Dawson, Madeline, and Annika, and one great granddaughter Chloe, her sister Mary, and many nieces and nephews. In death Kathy reunites with her husband Jon, her parents, her brother Steve, both brother-in-laws Jim and Larry, as well as other family members and friends.
One of Kathy's last wishes was "I wish you enough"
I wish you enough, a poem by Bob Perks
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how grey the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess
I wish you enough life filled with enough good things to fulfill it
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye
Kathy’s Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church of Anoka on June 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Kathy would like you to consider a donation to the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer or to the Audubon Society.
