Obituary of Billie Jean Pearson
Billie Jean Pearson, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2024, with her beloved husband, Gary, and loved ones by her side.
"The lady with the southern accent" and her beautiful, big smile was easy to recognize in the places she liked to shop. Her friendly face and pleasant nature made her easy to like and remember wherever she went. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, going out to eat, snacking on Cheetos and candy, then finishing the day with a bowl of ice cream while watching "Wheel" with Gary. She was also an excellent cook and often recreated dishes that Gary described to her from his many trips as a pilot. Around the holidays she made sure the household reflected the spirit of the seasons in decor and food.
She had many hobbies throughout the years and really could do anything she put her mind to. She had a can-do spirit because she enjoyed learning and encouraging others to try new things. Woodworking, pouring cement and fixing the car were some of her endeavors, but sewing was her favorite. An accomplished seamstress, she loved designing and creating unique fashions for herself, family and home. She made so many items from sheets! The costumes and special outfits for the grandkids were the best, however. She loved to see their faces light up when they got to try them on the first time.
What she enjoyed most was loving on and hanging out with family and it showed in so many ways: Late night talks, Hallmark movies with popcorn, on-line chats with grandkids, giggling at the silly things babies do. She was a dreamer; she dreamed big for us and encouraged us to do our best. She believed in us, wanted the best and could see the best in all of us. We will miss her forever.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gary Pearson, and children; Valorie Pearson, Tori Pearson, Tami (Charles) Morgan, Gary (Susan) Pearson II; Grandchildren-Charlie (Becca) Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Maggie Morgan, Angus Morgan, Andrea Werner, and Taylor Werner; two great-grandchildren Wren and Everett, and one sister, Marylee Thomas.
