Obituary of June Long

Long, June (Mary) Age 97: December 4, 1926 - May 31, 2024

Survived by daughter Kelly Chillstrom, son Gayan Gregory Long, grandson Paul Petersen and wife Amanda, and great grandson James.

June was an award winning educator: creating innovative programs and curriculum for special needs students. She was a teacher at Park Center High School, taught at the University of Minnesota and at North Hennepin Community College, and finished her career as Coordinator for Vocational Education at Osseo School District 279. June remained active in professional organizations including the Osseo Retired Educators and served on the board of North Hennepin Community College. She was an avid reader and attributed her longevity to a regular swimming routine which continued into her early nineties.

June’s celebration of life will be from 3:00-6:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024 at  Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post 172: 260 4th Avenue SE, Osseo, MN. Her memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM
