Obituary of Joanne Elizabeth Johnson

Joanne E. (Puckett) Johnson, 88, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024.

Joanne was born in Duluth on November 9, 1935, to Anne Kramer Puckett Worsley and Raymond Puckett.

She grew up in Duluth’s West End and attended St. Clement’s and St. Jean’s School. After graduating, she met Kenneth R. Johnson through friends and immediately fell in love. They married in May of 1955 and moved to Schroeder, MN. The following year, they moved back to Hermantown, built a home and raised a family. She continued to live in that home until April of this year, a total of 68 years.

Joanne was a cook at various restaurants, with the longest and last being at Benedictine Health Center from 1985-1995. She enjoyed garage sales, reading, word finds, MN Twins and most of all Jeopardy!

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Henry Worsley in 1998, and husband Kenneth in 2007.

She is survived by her children, Judith (John) Budisalovich, Randall Johnson and Beth (Noel Stenstadvold) Johnson all of Duluth. Grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Calvin, Spencer and Rachelle and great-grandchildren Gillian and JJ.

Per Joanne’s request, no service will be held. Interment at Union Cemetery at a later date.
