Obituary of Mary Pat Tillges
Mary Pat (Martin) Tillges, born to Nora and Michael Martin on May 12, 1939 passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Born in Lakeville, she spent the majority of her life in Burnsville, MN.
Mary Pat graduated from Lakeville High School in 1957 and in 1960, married James Tillges at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, Minnesota. Mary Pat later went on to work at Minnegasco and in retirement she enjoyed driving bus for ISD #196. She enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening, spending time with her family, going on road trips and caring for her animals. She had a passion for music and loved to play her flute and sing. Above all else, Mary Pat was proud of her role as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Mary Pat will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her mother Nora, father Michael, sisters - Margaret, Jean, Joan, and brothers - Hubert, Wallace, Edmund and James.
She is survived by her children, Stephen of Burnsville, Michael (Marsha) of Duluth, Sheilah Felty (Jeff) of Ham Lake, Patrick (Denise) of Cambridge, and Regina Toews (Richard) of Apple Valley, and daughter-in-law Pam Tillges. Mary Pat's legacy also includes her cherished grandchildren: Jonathan Slater, Emily & Thomas Toews, Courtney Peterfeso, Alisha Tillges, Mitchell & Bronte Tillges, Nicole & Michael Felty. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Mia, Rocco, & Rex Peterfeso.
Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage, MN, to celebrate her life and the impact she made on those around her. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the Mass with a luncheon immediately following. Burial will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
