Obituary of Robert and Aleeta Brekke

 

Robert Leroy Brekke, 92, died peacefully February 18, 2020 in Burnsville, MN. Robert was born January 26, 1928 in Bottineau, ND. Robert joined the Navy in 1945, and served in the Naval reserve during the Korean War. Robert was an aircraft engine inspector for Northwest Airlines. Robert loved history, aviation and travel, and was devoted to his family.

Aleeta Ann Brekke (Devery), 90, died peacefully on April 2nd, 2024 in Bloomington, MN. Aleeta was born in Plainview, MN on September 8th, 1933. Aleeta was devoted to God and her family. She loved to read the Bible, bake, garden, and had a close group of Bible Study friends.

Robert and Aleeta were married 65 years, and are survived by four children, Brad Brekke (Reina), Tom Brekke (Lisa), Anne Hefley (Kenny) and Carol Brekke, four grandchildren, Ian Brekke (Katie), Eric Brekke (Jackie), Devon Goulding (Tyler) and Kelsey Galbrecht (Adler) and 8 great-grandchildren (with a 9th on the way) Calvin, Rosemary, Penelope, Edward (Ned), Henry, David, Waylon and Wylder and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Stella and Nils (Nels) Brekke, and siblings: Kenneth Brekke, Rosella Ahl (Brekke), Sylvia Heddens (Brekke) and Wilma Surdahl (Brekke).

Aleeta is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Pearl (Atkinson) Devery, and siblings: Clark Devery, Charles Devery, Carna Bernard (Devery), Glenn Devery, Martha Seleman (Devery), Wayne Devery.

Robert and Aleeta’s memorial service will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at Fort Snelling Chapel @ 10:30 am with a reception to follow at Lost Spur Country Club @ 12:00 pm.
