Obituary of Timothy John Collins
Timothy John Collins, our beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away from natural causes May 11, 2024. Our hearts are broken at the loss of his gentle soul just short of his 48th birthday.
Timothy, “Timmy” was the baby of 4 born to Richard and Susan Collins in Bloomington, Minnesota on May 20, 1976. He was a cheeky, spunky, and adorable little tot who was doted on by everyone in the family. He spent many weekends with his grandparents and family friends who loved spoiling him.
Throughout his childhood Tim played hockey in the Bloomington Jefferson High School program. He had the privilege of playing with several friends who went on to play in the NHL, which was always fun for him to watch them perform at the highest level. He supported them and all his Minnesota sports teams as an avid fan.
Tim enjoyed helping his dad with his stock car races and formed a special bond with him when they also started working together at Surge Water Conditioning when Tim was still in high school. Racing was a passion that stuck with him his entire life, whether watching professional events on TV or going to local tracks where his dad used to race.
Tim was so smart. He sought knowledge on many subjects and was always curious. This served him well as he was able to establish a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer designing water treatment systems having had no formal education beyond high school. He was well respected at his job and worked for the company for many years, often serving as a mentor for younger staff. Tim’s intelligence and problem-solving skills were instrumental in the success of the company.
He enjoyed going fast on his motorcycle and driving his many sports cars. The “Collins blood” ran deep in him. Losing his father at just 18 years old was very hard for Timmy. He never found a way to truly live with his grief. He was such a sensitive and kind soul, and this loss was just too great, and a burden he carried with him to the end. We take comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved dad.
Tim leaves behind his mother Sue Collins; brother Bob Collins (Chandra); Sisters Chris Davis and Theresa Collins; niece Kayla Davis; and nephews Blake Davis (Christy) and Riley Enebo.
He has been shepherded into his next journey by his father Richard Collins; Grandmothers Mildred Freij and Bernice Collins; nephew Alex Enebo; great nephew Raiden Davis, and his cherished dog Jake.
Our hearts will forever hold our angel Tim until we unite with him again. Rest in peace Timmy, your suffering has ended.
All are welcome to join us in honoring Tim’s life and giving him a loving sendoff on his heavenly journey.
