Obituary of Patrick A. Gaspard DDS

Pat was born December 7, 1942 and died peacefully on May 7, 2016. He is survived by wife, Ginny; son, Craig (Jenny) with grandchildren, Olivia and Cole; son, Chris (Celeste); brother, Keith and his extended family, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Grimsrud and her family. Preceded in death by parents, Joyce and Robert Gaspard; and twin sister Patti. Pat loved being a grandpa and adored his grandchildren. Pat was a graduate of Richfield High School, the University of Minnesota Dental School and the University of Minnesota Graduate School in Periodontics. He was a member of the Minneapolis District Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontics and many other associations and study clubs. Pat was a dentist and practiced in St. Louis Park for 47 years where he had a huge following of patients and friends. He was a wonderful mentor to many of his colleagues and to younger dentists, and was a supporter of the University of Minnesota Dental School. Besides his love of dentistry, Pat was an avid golfer. He traveled the world enjoying a wide variety of golf courses with his golf buddies and even had the opportunity to play a few rounds at Augusta National! Pat was a long-time member at Southview Country Club and for many years lived and played at Bearpath Golf and Country Club. Pat will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. If you were a friend of Pat's, you were a friend for life! He had a smile that could light up a room with a personality that filled the room, and he was a man you would never forget. A memorial service for Pat will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. South, Edina, MN - visitation from 2-3 PM, the service begins at 3 PM with a celebration of Pat's life following the service at Bearpath Golf & Country Club until 7 PM. Memorial donations can be made to the Dr. Patrick Gaspard Fund within the Givens Brain Tumor Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, 800 E. 28th St., Minneapolis, MN 55407.
