Obituary of Steven Karl Magnuson
Steven Karl Magnuson "Steve", 66, was called home to be with the Lord on January 6th, 2024 as his wife was beside him at his home in Bradenton, Florida. Leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and determination, Steve will always be remembered for his unrelenting faith in Jesus Christ.
Steve was born to Virgil and Georgine Magnuson on April 27th, 1957. Growing up, his enthusiasm for sports propelled him to play for the Minneapolis Merchants where his ambition played out for all to see as they won the world tournament. He not only played sports with zeal, but also shared his knowledge and love for the game by coaching his children and other young athletes later in his lifetime. His dedication to sports extended beyond the field or court, as he instilled values of teamwork, discipline, and endurance in his players. In addition to his coaching, Steve was a visionary entrepreneur. On December 4th 1993, Steve married his wife, Nancy, and alongside her, started an embroidery business and turned it into a thriving venture. He built a successful company that provided for his family through hard work, determination, and business acumen. Following the family’s move from Minnesota to Florida years later, Steve turned his focus to obtaining his realtor’s license. Whether it was the thrill of a buzzer-beater in a Timberwolves game, the excitement of a touchdown in a Vikings game, or the joy of a walk-off home run in a Twins game, Steve found immense joy in cheering on his beloved sports teams from afar. In the end, Steve’s unwavering faith in Jesus and his passion for sports were both integral parts of who he was. They shaped his outlook on life, his approach to adversity, and his relationships with others. Steven Magnuson left a lasting impact on those around him. He remained steadfast in his belief in God, providing him with the strength and comfort he needed to endure.
He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil, mother, Georgine, first wife, Laurel, and daughter, Shelby Marie.
