Obituary of Ervin Elwood Larson
Ervin Elwood Larson, aged 83, passed away surrounded by his family April 26, 2024.
Ervin was born on May 26, 1940, in Duluth, MN to Elwood and Ruby (née Sausman) Larson of Meadowlands, MN. After graduating from Toivola-Meadowlands High School in 1958, Ervin attended University of Minnesota, Duluth before transferring to Dunwoody, where he graduated with a certificate in Electronics.
After graduating from Dunwoody, Ervin enlisted in the US Army where he served for three years as a Radar Repairmen. Ervin later joined the Minnesota Army National Guard, before transferring to the U.S. Army Reserve, where he retired in 1996 as a Master Seargent, Armored Crewman Trainer. Ervin was a life-long member of the American Legion.
Ervin met his future wife, Gladys Kay Christian while stationed near Sacramento, CA. They were married in December of 1964, after which they returned to Minnesota, where Ervin began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone company. In 1975, Ervin transferred from the Twin Cities to Hibbing, Minnesota, and brought his family to live on the family farm in Meadowlands, until their passings. Ervin lost the love of his life, Gladys Kay in 1997, and remained in their family home until his death.
Ervin is survived by his sons, John (Andrea) Larson, Michael (Roberta Jo) Larson, Grandsons Dustin and Raymond.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 - 4 pm on May 11th at the Meadowlands Community Center.
