Obituary of Helen Marie Soderholm-Lunder
Helene Soderholm-Lunder, age 94, of Little Canada, MN, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at the Harbors Senior Living Community in Fridley, MN.
Helene was born January 21st, 1930, to Parents Francois and Alita Boulanger, in Riverland Manitoba Canada, a small Farming community near Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba.
Helene was preceded in death by husband Robert Soderholm.
She is survived by husband Harlow Lunder, daughter Elizabeth Rene, sons Bruce Soderholm (Kathy) and Duane Soderholm (Mary), four grandchildren, Jason Soderholm (Andrea), Carrie Slag (Troy), Paige Boone (Will) and Jordyn Soderholm. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren: Benjamin, Thomas, and Alexandria Slag, Emerie, Ella, and Claire Boone, and Henry Rice.
Helene was the oldest daughter of 17 siblings, helped raise many of her younger siblings, and has maintained close relationships with all. Helene and Robert immigrated to the United States in 1957 and obtained citizenship in 1962. Helene's interests included volunteering at the U of M gift shop, as a member of the Powder Puff Clown Club (as Polka Dot). She loved Ballroom dancing with her husband Harlow at the St. Paul Moose Club and Belray Ballroom. She was able to travel to many states and countries with her sister Marita Bugado. Helene loved to sing and was always the life of the party. She will be greatly missed by all.
Helen's celebration of life will be a private family service on May 7, 2024.
