Obituary of Valerie Joan Silvernale
Valerie Joan Silvernale, a Denfeld High School graduate, unexpectedly passed away to a stroke, at age 66 (October, 19, 1957), on Saturday, April, 27, 2024.
Surviving Valerie in death are her Mother, Helen Silvernale and Aunt Marjorie Slanga. She is also survived by many cousins, several nieces and nephews and 5 siblings whom she all loved dearly; brother John and his children Jacob, Mickinzee and Jameson; sister Andrea and her children Thomas and Kasie; brother Eric with his wife Pamela and his daughter Megan; brother Jeffrey with his wife Ingrid and daughters Marleigh and Taryn; sister Susan with her husband Michael and their sons Eli and Leif. She was also a beloved Grand Aunt to Ava, Autumn, Griffin and Tanner.
Valerie is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lloyd Silvernale.
Valerie retired from the US Navy as a Hospital Corpman 1st Class. She graduated from San Diego State University and held many certifications in health and science related fields. Her professional career focused mainly as a Medical Laboratory Technician and she spent the majority of her career at Essentia Health, St Mary’s Hospital in Superior, WI. Val’s impact on the company, her co-workers and associates she encountered was unique, filled with intellectual curiosity, and helped create a culture that was often fun to be a part of.
Valerie was a woman who was passionate, curious, adventurous and proud. Hiking, kayaking, rehabilitation and care of wildlife and experimenting with interesting foods and recipes are just a few of the hobbies that made her so unique.
She was a caring, intensely loyal to her family and friends and had an unmatched passion for nature and wildlife. Val’s life will continue to impact her many friends, family members and nature, which she adamantly protected.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2:00pm at:
