Obituary of James Henry Hanson
James Henry “Jim” Hanson, age 79, of Minnetonka, MN, died May 11, 2016 at the Villa of St. Louis Park. Born Aug. 25, 1936, Marion Co., AL, son of John Dewey & Minnie Lee Wright Hanson. Attended Univ. of AL., served in U.S. Army in France, retired from Northwest Airlines after 34 yrs. of service. Member of Sons of the American Revolution, Theta Xi, Delta Sigma Pi, Sons of Confederate Veterans, La Societe des Fusils du Pershing, Knights of Columbus, MN Historical Society & several genealogical societies. Descendant of Swedish immigrants who landed in 1642 at the Maryland colony. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Johnnie Max (Toni) Hanson and sister, Mary Ellen (John) Griffin. Survived by wife, Margaret “Peggy” Louise Alexander Hanson of Minnetonka; daughter, Christine Elizabeth (Chris) Hanson of Daly City, CA; son, David Alexander (Noelle) Hanson of Maple Grove, MN; daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Hanson of Becker, MN and granddaughters, Melanie Margaret Miskowic and Mya Lee & Anna Noelle Hanson. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5900 W. Lake St., St. Louis Park, MN. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
