Obituary of Luke "Duke" Dudgeon
Luke (Duke) Douglas Dudgeon, Age 45, of Minneapolis, formerly of Chaska MN, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 1, 2024 at his home.
Duke was born March 26, 1979, in Minneapolis, MN to Douglas and Barbara (Foss) Dudgeon. The Dudgeon family moved to Chaska, MN in 1986. Duke graduated from Chaska High School in 1997, where he was a key member of the football and baseball teams. He received his bachelor’s degree in public relations from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida in 2002. Upon graduation he worked at an NBC affiliate in Jacksonville, Florida before returning to the Minneapolis area a few years later. He spent more than 20 years in the service industry working at Wildfire Restaurant in Eden Prairie and Fogo De Chao Restaurant in Minneapolis. He had a life-long passion for baseball, traveling as far as Asia to play competitively with the Minnesota Little Gophers as a teenager and later as an adult becoming a cherished member of the Victoria Vic’s baseball team for twelve years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed attending sporting events, hanging out with friends, cooking and traveling the country. Duke was fun-loving and adventurous, always looking for new experiences. He was a fiercely loyal friend and could light up a room with his contagious energy. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with his quick wit. Gone too soon, Duke will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Duke was preceded in death by mother; Barbara Dudgeon. He is survived by father, Douglas (Gaby) Dudgeon, brother; Todd (Alita) Carpenter, sister; Katie Dudgeon; nephew, Kyle Carpenter; and many loving relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life for Duke will be held Thursday, May 9th from 5-8pm at the Victoria Lions Park Pavilion, 82nd Street, Victoria
