Obituary of Margarita "Wela" Suarez
Margarita "Wela" Suarez (nee Santiago-Fuentes) passed away on April 13, 2024, in Red Wing, Minnesota, at the age of 85. She was born on July 20, 1938, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, to Justina Fuentes and Narciso Santiago.
Margarita was a loving and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Described as happy, crazy, and fun, she had a delightful sense of humor and a sweet disposition, always willing to help others without hesitation.
In her career, Margarita was a devoted house wife and mother first, and then worked at a Candy Factory, retiring in 1996. She was very dedicated to her family.
She was a devoted member of New Life in Christ and Celebration Church before moving to Red Wing, where she did not have a current place of worship.
Margarita had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy, including dancing, cooking for others, and caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed solving puzzles, particularly fill-in and crossword puzzles, trying new activities, and traveling to explore different places.
Margarita is survived by her sons Carlos Juan Roche-Santiago and Hiram Rolando Roche-Santiago, her sisters Milagros, Lydia, and Marta, her brother Edwin, as well as 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Justina Fuentes and Narciso Santiago. A service to honor and remember Margarita will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. at Jordan Tower I, 433 W 4th St, Red Wing, MN 55066. The Cremation Society of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN, is assisting with the arrangements for Margarita's passing.
