Obituary of Robert Eugene Richards

Robert “Bob” Richards, age 91of Lakeville, passed away on April 9th.

Bob was born on January 31, 1933, to Cecil and Pauline Richards in Sioux City, Iowa. Bob is survived by his wife Doris Richards, his children Kathy Estes, Jeff Richards, and John (Valerie) Richards, Doris’ children; Rachael Harvey, Brad (Cindy) Harvey, Nancy (Sonny) McKay, Lisa (Jeff) Anderson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Pauline Richards, his sisters; Patricia Cote and Judith Delaughter, daughter Rebecca Labonte, son-in-law Barry Estes.

Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Bob’s entire career was spent working at 3M. Bob was an avid golfer and after 40 years of membership at Stillwater Country Club he became an honorary member. After retiring, Bob spent many hours tutoring students in math at Metcalf Junior High School and Stillwater Junior High School.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2024, with visitation at 10am, funeral service 11am and luncheon to follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Dr, Burnsville, MN
