Obituary of Adrienne Ethel Ratliff
Adrienne Ethel Ratliff (née Merrill), a devout and cherished soul, was called to her eternal rest on April 3, 2024, at the age of 91 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born on July 22, 1932, in the same city, she led a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and tireless service to those around her.
She is survived by her loving sons Paul H. Ratliff Jr. (Gloria) and Rev. Keith Ratliff (Deborah), and her siblings Winna Davis, Judith Merrill, and Mary Merrill. Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Adrienne was preceded in passing by her parents Hazel Sue Merrill and Willard Merrill Sr., her siblings Barbara Fisher, Willard Merrill Jr., Janice Moore, Ronald Merrill, Kathleen Carr, Evelyn Merrill, and her daughters Lisa Ann Dawson, Linda Ratliff and Maria Houston.
Adrienne's early education was completed at Whittier Elementary, Wendell Phillips Junior High, and Central High School, after which she pursued further learning at Concordia College. Her professional life was a reflection of her dedication to service, with notable positions at Northwest Bank, Kenwood Recreation Center, and Northwest Airlines, where she ensured the safety and comfort of young travelers.
A member of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Adrienne's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She served her church and community with humility and grace, volunteering her time as an AARP spokesperson, a guide at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and at various local food shelves.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church on April 12 th, visitation 10:00 AM, Service 11:00 AM at 3355 4th Street North, Minneapolis, MN 55412 .
