Obituary of Richard Raymond
Richard “Dick” Raymond, age 76, passed away March 29, 2024 in Superior, Wisc. after a 5 year courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born February 14, 1948 in Superior, Wisc. to Thomas and Isabelle (Arseneau) Raymond.
He graduated High School from Superior High School. He was employed by Elliot Meats, Peavey Grain Elevator, ABEX (ABC Rail), Solid Rock Mission, and the City of Superior. Some of Dick’s hobbies included watching the Packers & Brewers. In his younger years, he enjoyed fast-pitch softball, baseball, golf, bowling, basketball and boxing. Later on, he loved to go fishing with his son, Rick on Lake Amnicon. He had the pleasure of watching his son Rick coach High School Basketball and his grandson and great-grandson play the game as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny Raymond; Larry (Rose) Raymond; brother-in-law, Dave Moss; son-in-law, Todd Nelson; sister-in-law, Vicki Raymond; Ed and Phyllis Stein (who were like a 2nd set of parents to him).
Dick is survived by his son, Rick (Sandi) Raymond; daughter, Renee Raymond-Nelson (Kaare Berg); grandson, Blake Raymond; great-grandson, Liam Raymond; siblings, Tommy Raymond, Gary (Susan Koch) Raymond, Lonnie Moss (Perry Lindberg), Lori Raymond-Maine; sister-in-law, Pat Raymond; mother to Rick and Renee, Shari Raymond-Herubin; girlfriend, Susan Jarvis; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The family of Dick would like to thank Essentia Oncology, Dr. Vera, Dr. Braithwaite and their nurses and staff, also the Essentia Hospice Team and Essentia Superior nursing staff. A huge Thank You to Susan Jarvis for the care she gave to our Dad.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Shamrock Bar & Pizza in Superior. Please wear your favorite Packers, Brewers or Badgers gear in honor of Dick.
