Obituary of Mary Marie Hellier
Mary Marie Hellier, age 89 of Minneapolis, joined her beloved husband, Bob, in Heaven on March 25, 2024.
Mary was born in Plankington, South Dakota to Rausen and Alva Evans on September 22, 1934. She graduated from Delmont High School.
Mary and Bob, lived in Edina, MN where they raised two beloved dachshunds, Bruno and Otto. Mary was a member of Gethsemane Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir and had many cherished friends. She volunteered at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, was an avid crossword puzzler, and a lifelong fan of Lawrence Welk.
Preceded in death by husband, Bob, sisters Betty and Shirley, brother Bob and nieces Brenda,Theresa, Pam, Vikki and Sandra.
Survived by her step-children, Edward (Amy), Kim (Phil), Bruce (Cara), and Rob; grandchildren Luke (Josi), Sarah (Kailey), Ethan (Kelly), Patrick and Natalie; great grandchildren Betty, Annie, Wally, Reagan, Tripp and Sandy; niece Desiree; nephews Glenn, Steven, and many cherished friends.
According to Mary’s wishes, a private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Minneapolis Humane Society or a charity of choice.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who helped care for and supported Mary in the last years of her life.
