Forever in Our Hearts

Arthur Jeff Jack Johnson Jr. better known as “AJ” was born July 14, 1953, in Chicago IL, to his late parents Arthur “Jack” Johnson and Cora Bell. Arthur “AJ” Johnson was educated at Momence Elementary and graduated from St. Anne High School. Arthur “AJ” Johnson confessed his life to Christ at East Chicago Indiana Baptist Church.

Soon afterwards Arthur “AJ” Johnson moved to Chicago IL with his late Aunt Alice where he met the love of his life Norma “Punkin” Sole. Arthur “AJ” Johnson loved and cared for her and her two boys before having a daughter of his own. A determined father and exciting grandfather, he enjoyed telling stories and reminiscing about the past. Arthur “AJ” Johnson loved to dance, go fishing, and listen to sports.

 Arthur “AJ” Johnson fought a good fight and on March 18, 2024, while at home with his daughter and grandchildren, he lost the battle. Arthur “AJ” Johnson is preceded in death by Norma “Punkin” Sole. Three brothers, Georgia Lee, Charles Henry, and Charles Peterson. Two sisters, Barbara Ann, and Laverne.

Arthur “AJ” Johnson leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter Denita “Sherry,” two sons, Marco, and Tykee. Four grandsons, Jamahl, Jordan, Jahleel, Messiah, and one granddaughter Amyria. Two brothers, Harold (Josephine) and Franklin Lee (Wendy). Two sisters, Paulette (Clyde) and Henry Mae (Charles). An extended family in Illinois, a host of cousins in Iowa, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH

NOW THERE IS IN STORE FOR ME THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH THE LORD THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, WILL REWARD TO ME ON THAT DAY, AND NOT ONLY FOR ME BUT ALSO TO ALL WHO HAVE LONGED FOR HIS APPEARING. 2 TIMOTHY 4: 7-8
