Obituary of Michelle Mares

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Michelle "Shelly" Mares, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, at the age of 55.

As one of many children, Shelly knew the importance of family. She worked hard to provide for the ones she loved in many ways. She was there for you when you needed that guidance or shoulder to cry on.

 ​Shelly was a very crafty woman, especially with her various crocheting skills. She had the most amazing talent with her crafts. The difficult projects she could make with her eyes closed, still amazes us to this day.  She loved celebrating and making meals, especially new recipes, but her most happy times were spent enjoying time with her family. Her other happy place was in her garden with beautiful flowers that she shared with critters, especially her beloved cardinals. 

Shelly is preceded in death by her father and mother, Fredrick and Audrey Vorpahl and her beloved dogs, Cora and Gurris. She is survived by her loving husband, Manuel; children, Brittany (Cesar) Cruz and Sandee (Andrew) Vignaroli; grandchildren, Gabriel, Ezequiel, Ebeni, Eliliana, Jairo, Isaias and Sarai Penelope Rae; as well as by many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great niece and many other loving family and friends.

For a woman who gave so much, many will come together to love, remember and honor her. Each of us will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on April 13th at their home in Brooklyn Center, MN at 3 pm. Yet to be determined, is another celebration of life, that will be held when we put her ashes to rest in Wisconsin.

Con gran pesar anunciamos el inesperado fallecimiento de Michelle "Shelly" Mares, nuestra querida esposa, madre, abuela, hermana, tía y amiga, a la edad de 55 años.

 Como una de muchos niños, Shelly conocía la importancia de la familia.  Trabajó duro para mantener a sus seres queridos de muchas maneras.  Ella estuvo allí para ti cuando necesitabas esa guía o un hombro sobre el que llorar.

 Shelly era una mujer muy astuta, especialmente con sus diversas habilidades para tejer a crochet.  Tenía un talento increíble con sus manualidades.  Los difíciles proyectos que podía realizar con los ojos cerrados todavía nos sorprenden hasta el día de hoy.  Le encantaba celebrar y preparar comidas, especialmente recetas nuevas, pero sus momentos más felices los pasaba disfrutando del tiempo con su familia.  Su otro lugar feliz era su jardín con hermosas flores que compartía con los bichos, especialmente con sus queridos cardenales.

 A Shelly le precedieron en la muerte su padre y su madre, Fredrick y Audrey Vorpahl, y sus amados perros, Cora y Gurris.  Le sobreviven su amado esposo, Manuel;  niños, Brittany (Cesar) Cruz y Sandee (Andrew) Vignaroli;  nietos, Gabriel, Ezequiel, Ebeni, Eliliana, Jairo, Isaías y Sarai Penélope Rae;  así como por muchos hermanos y hermanas, sobrinas y sobrinos, sobrinos y sobrinas nietas, sobrinas nietas y muchos otros queridos familiares y amigos.

 Por una mujer que dio tanto, muchos se unirán para amarla, recordarla y honrarla.  Cada uno de nosotros la extrañaremos muchísimo.
