Obituary of Robert William Newcomb

Robert (“Bob”/“Bobbie”) Newcomb, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 21,2024 surrounded by family. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by parents William and Virginia Newcomb, sister Judy LeMire and brother in-law Louie LeMire.  Bob is survived by his loving wife Helga; children Grant Willinger Newcomb and Dina (Jeremy) Thompson; grandchildren Lexi and Reese Thompson; many loving nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

After high school, Bob joined the Air Force and served for three years. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Helga. Together, they had 52 years of creating lots of wonderful memories with their family and friends. 

Throughout Bob’s life, he spent time on his river boat, duck hunting, fishing, traveling, playing golf and he loved Texas Holdem. Most of all, he enjoyed being with family and friends! He will be remembered for his funny stories and the love he shared with others. 

Memorial mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 11, 2024 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 Victoria St. N., Shoreview, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior (10-11AM). Please join us in celebrating Bob. We will all miss him dearly.
