Obituary of Kim Marie Nesbitt
After a year long and courageous battle with cancer, Kim Marie Nesbitt passed away surrounded by family on March 24, 2024 at the age of 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Shortreed. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael, mother, Kathryn Shortreed, children, Chelsea (Dustin), Ryan (Katie), Craig (Amanda) and Kevin (Monique), five grandchildren, Benny, Odin, Freya, Aubree and Ryder, brothers, Dan, Joe and Mike, nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.
Kim was a registered nurse for many years and mostly worked in assisted living and memory care. She loved working with her patients and they loved her back. She loved traveling, dirt stock car racing, camping, the beach and her grandchildren.
Kim found her second home on the island of Caye Caulker, Belize shortly before retiring in 2019. Fully embracing the snow bird lifestyle, Kim spent her winters in Belize where she made many life long friends. Kim loved the island lifestyle and made sure to “Go Slow” - the famous mantra of Caye Caulker.
The family welcomes donations to the American or Canadian cancer society in lieu of flowers.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Keller Clubhouse, 2166 Maplewood Drive, Maplewood, MN 55109 on Tuesday, April 2nd from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
