Obituary of Alan D. Klein
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Klein, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, union brother, and friend.
As one of 10 children, Alan knew the importance of family. He worked hard to provide for the people he loved in many ways. With his hands, he planted seeds that grew the fruits and vegetables that filled our plates. Hunting and fishing were not only activities he enjoyed, but another way he nourished his family.
He preferred to show his love for others by caring for them. Sometimes that meant showing up to your house with the gift of your favorite homegrown vegetables, wild mushrooms, or fresh fish from the lake. At other times, he showed his love by teasing. Sometimes that meant calling you by any name except your own. And perhaps he showed us he loved us most often by always sharing a pot of coffee and some advice on how to do literally anything.
Alan is preceded in death by his father Alfred, mother Rae, and stepmother Karen. He is survived by his loving wife Sue; children Joseph (Carri), James (Stephanie), and Alane; grandchildren Julie (Dakota), Kholby (Julian), and Kaylynn (Antonio); and great granddaughter Cleo Amor; as well as by brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, and many other loving family and friends.
For a man who gave so much, many will come together to love, remember, and honor him. Each of us will miss him dearly.
Alan was not fond of the word goodbye, so please join us as we say "see you later."
Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 29 at 5:00 p.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior at the Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Rd, St Paul MN 55119.
