Raised in Dike, Iowa, Graduated HS in 1967, AS degree at Normandale Community College

Met her husband, Chuck, when he came to Iowa with her brother Craig from the Navy after writing for six months. Their first date was her senior prom on May 31; they married August 12, 1967.

Claudia was very creative, hospitable, and generous and she humbly used her gifts to intuitively meet other’s needs. She served in many ways at Faith Covenant Church. She is loved and remembered for her friendly, and generous nature. She liked cake decorating, sewing, and doll collecting. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, nurse, and friend to many. She had a radiant smile that reflected the love she had for Jesus.

As a registered nurse Claudia worked in home health care, in Med-Surg & Postpartum units at Ridges Hospital, then 17 years at Southdale OBGYN as a triage nurse.

Diagnosed in January 2020 with Parkinson’s, later re-diagnosed as Cortical Basil Syndrome a rarer, but more aggressive disease. She peacefully went to Meet Jesus with Robin at her side. The family wishes to thank the Park Nicollet Hospice team for their wonderful care; special thanks to Lovely, Sharon, Brenton, and Nikki for their thoughtfulness.

She is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Chuck, daughter Robin (Kallen Kutz), grandsons Korbin and Riley, and Son, Bron, siblings Craig (Mary Ellen), Cynthia (Dave), and Clair. Also Claudia found late in life another family, the Wittrens, Millers, and Lechtenbergs, many of whom she loved. She was preceded in death by Curt and Phyllis Madsen.

Memorials may be donated to Feed My Starving Children in lieu of flowers.
