Obituary of Laura (Ristine) Hoff

Laura (Ristine) Hoff, age 78, of Hastings passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Laura was born November 9, 1945 to her parents, Lorraine (Dexter) and Kenneth Ristine in St. Paul, MN.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, soulmate and love of her life husband Donavan, in-laws Myles and Vernice Hoff, brother and sister-in-law Roger and Lila Ristine, sister Diane Workman, brothers-in-law Leonard Halverson and Jeff Obst, niece Kristine Hoff and nephew Steven Sticha.

She is survived by her daughters Heather Arvidson (Anthony), Sara Vieth (Mark), Alissa Hoff (Nathan Fluegge); grandchildren Lily and Jack Arvidson, Cody, Maggie, and Wyatt Vieth, and Mason Hoff-Fluegge, sisters Rose Kamrath (Gary) and Caroline Obst, sisters-in-law Loretta Halverson, Veronica Sticha (Richard), brothers-in-law Larry Hoff (Nancy), Roger Hoff (Nancy), and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Laura attended Wilson High School in St. Paul, MN and furthered her education at the University of Minnesota. She was a 25 year employee of the City of Hastings Fire and Ambulance Service. With her husband she operated concessions and craft boutiques for many years under the business name Hoff Haberdashery.

Laura’s favorite activities included touring most of the United States with Donavan by Amtrak train, reading, antiquing, crafting, dancing, playing cards, and entertaining.

Above all her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends, family, her dog Louie, and especially her beloved grandchildren, who she celebrated with pride. She will be remembered as a loving mother and for her fierce devotion to her family.
Laura was full of spirit and strength, and will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Memorials are preferred In lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, 2-4pm, at The Confluence Hotel, 200 2nd Street West, Hastings.
