Obituary of Evelyn Eckert

Evelyn Eckert, Age 93, of Apple Valley passed away on March 7, 2024 at Fairview Southdale Hospital with her family at her side.

She was born Evelyn Runge on December 12, 1930. She was married to John Eckert for 59 years before his death in 2013. After raising her children, she worked at Bethel College and MSI Insurance. She was baptized, confirmed, married, and a long-time active member of St. Stephanus Lutheran Church in St. Paul and later South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and son in-law, Dennis Ripczinski. She will be deeply missed by her children, Paula Nierengarten (Stephen), Linda Kleppe (Glen), Sandi Longley (Paul), Andy (Anne); 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many relatives and good friends.

Memorial Service 11am Friday, March 22 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 7510 Palomino Drive, Apple Valley. Visitation 1 hour before. Private Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Open Door (https://theopendoorpantry.org) and Growing in Grace Preschool, Pine City, MN
