Obituary of Nancy Ann Jensen

Nancy Ann Jensen (née Christiansen), of Bloomington, MN, passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on November 18, 1935, in Oak Park, Illinois. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Nancy married Arthur Jerome (Jerry) Jensen on October 19, 1957. Together they lived in Minneapolis, Texas, and Arizona, before settling in Bloomington in 1965. Nancy taught at Minnetonka Elementary after graduating from the University of Minnesota. She was a stay-at-home mom for her three children and later worked as a cashier at Target, where she made many friends with both coworkers and customers.

She was an active member of the Hillcrest United Methodist Church, where she found solace and community. Nancy enjoyed participating in the church's activities and events. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed knitting and other textile art, gardening, reading, and walking in the neighborhood. Her homemade jam was a gift that everyone wanted to receive! “Nancy loved to play in the mud!” She belonged to book clubs and a church knitting club, where she shared her expertise and mentored new knitters.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jerry, her children Lynn (Daniel), Dale (Carolyn), and Leslie (Karl), grandchildren Bree (Nick), Jeremy, Kiersten, Megan, Nicolene, and Andrew, and her great-grandchildren Cooper and Addelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eirwen Christiansen.

A ceremony to honor Nancy's life will be held on April 22 at 12 noon (visitation at 11am) at Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
