Obituary of Mary Lynne Hanzel
In loving memory of Mary Lynne Hanzel (Harrer) who went home to the Lord on February 23rd, 2024. She was born to Mary and Richard Harrer on July 26th, 1941, in North Minneapolis, MN, and had four spirited younger brothers (Tom, Skip, Tim, and Greg). After graduating St. Anthony Catholic High School, she joined the Little Sisters of the Poor religious order and studied to become a nurse. She loved caring for patients and worked as a nurse at Catholic Elder Care nursing home in NE Minneapolis.
Mary joins her husband of 45 years, Tom, in heaven. She leaves behind her two children Jeremy (Vanessa) and Kelly, and four grandchildren Ben, Carter, Alex, and Maizie who will miss her dearly.
A special thank you to the staff at SilverCreek on Main and to her brother, Tom Harrer, who visited her regularly and helped take care of her in her last years.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on March 15th 11:00 AM at the Church of St. William, 6120 5th St NE, Fridley, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Interment following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd., Minneapolis.
