Obituary of Marjorie Jean Loomis

 

Marjorie graduated from this earth on Sunday, February 18 at age 90 and now resides in Jesus’ Kingdom forever.

Marjorie was born on Sunday, July 30, 1933 at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Predeceased by parents William (Bill) Schreiber and Selma Olivia (Carlson) Schreiber, brother William, sisters Deloris Schreiber and Dorothy Clapp Adams, husband Gerald Mason Loomis, and her constant loyal companion Cairn terrier Muffatina. Survived by children Dr. William Loomis and Jeanne Gavin (David), and grandsons Dylan and Kyle.

Marjorie had a fun and “magical” childhood. Her father owned Schreiber Printing and Looseleaf Manufacturing Co. in Minneapolis and was known as “Schreiber the Printer Magician”. She grew up in south Minneapolis with her family and attended John Burroughs Elementary, Ramsey Jr. High, graduated from Washburn High School in 1951, followed by the University of Minnesota, majoring in Elementary Education & Recreational Leadership. Marjorie’s teaching career included kindergarten and special education K-12, and Home School Consultant with T.E.A.C.H. (Teaching Effective Academics and Character at Home).

Marjorie was a lifetime member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and enjoyed many years in Bible Study Fellowship.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 10th, 11am, at Hope Church, 7132 Portland Avenue South, Richfield, with The Reverend David Paul Lenz presiding.

Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials preferred to Hope Church.
