Obituary of Bonnie Hoskins
Bonnie Hoskins of rural Kimball died peacefully Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Quiet Oaks hospice house. She was 81.
All are welcome to join Bonnie’s family for a Celebration of Life service to be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Kimball Christian Church. A family memorial service will take place later that day at the Hoskins “Dome”.
Bonnie Janell Pearson was born April 25, 1942, to Sven “Omar” Pearson and Nellie (Benson) Pearson in Fergus Fall, MN. Bonnie received her Nursing Diploma from Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in August of 1963 and was licensed as a Registered Nurse in October. She married Lee C. Hoskins September 28th of 1963 at the Kimball Church of Christ. She spent the next 21 years traveling the world with Lee for the United States Air Force. After retiring they moved to the family farm in Kimball in 1982. May of 1993 Bonnie was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the College of Saint Francis. Bonnie had a lifetime career as a nurse who “did it all” and retired from her last position with the Minnesota Health Department. She was a member of the Kimball Christian Church where she used her gifts and served in a variety of areas over the past 40+ years. Bonnie was a natural teacher of the Bible and all things nutrition. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed hosting in her “Dome” home. She loved reading, spending time in her gardens and in her pool. Her three loves included God, husband Lee and Sheba (her Shih Tzu).
Bonnie was preceded in death by husband Lee Hoskins, parents Omar and Nellie Pearson, stepmother DeEtte Pearson, her precious Uncle Eddie and Aunt Ethel Arvidson, half-brothers Steve and Brian Pearson, half-sister Kathi Bulthuis and grandson Christian Hoskins.
She is survived by her children Becky (Jay) Moldenhauer of Roseville, Alana (Tom) Kopp of Kimball, Laurance (Molly) Hoskins of DeRidder, Louisiana and Lewis (Elizabeth) Hoskins of Kimball; 10 grandchildren Jonathon (Malissa) Weyhrauch, Leisha (Michael) Hengel, Marcus (Brittany) Weyhrauch, Caleb Kopp, Stephen (MacKenzi) Kopp, Mercedes (Christian) Johnson, Lucas Hoskins, Leilani Hoskins, Lantz Hoskins and Liberty Hoskins and 7 great grandchildren; brothers Harvey (Carol) Pearson of Billings, Montana and Jack (Peggy) Pearson of Hat Creek, California and half-brother Larry Pearson Wenatchee, Washington.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota and Kimball Christian Church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House or Kimball Christian Church (memo: building fund).
