Obituary of Lucille Rose Schulz
Lucille “Lou” Rose (Meidinger) Schulz, 92, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. A lifelong resident of North Dakota, she spent her final months close to family and died in Eden Prairie, MN.
Born May 11, 1931 in Fredonia, ND, Lou was the only child of Maggie and Ben Meidinger. She attended high school in Linton where she met and married Curt Schulz in June 1949. They welcomed their son, Kevin, in 1950 and daughter, Karen, in 1951. Their young family frequently moved around the state due to Curt’s job with NW Bell, and spent 10+ yrs in Grand Forks. Eventually settling in Fargo, they enjoyed retirement years with summers at the lake and winters in AZ. Curt and Lou were married for nearly 53 years when he passed away in 2002.
Known as Oma, Lou was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kind, generous, and often with a smiling positive attitude, she enjoyed her family and especially her “greats”, as she called the little ones. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son Kevin (Nancy) Schulz; daughter Karen (Fred) Shearer; grandchildren Jennifer (Cory) Cater, Brian (Sandy) Shearer, Jason (Rebecca) Schulz, and Becky (Ryan) Connolly; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service is being planned for the Spring.
