Obituary of Bruce Allen Koepp

Bruce Allen Koepp, 73, of Scandia, MN, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at home, with his wife and two children at his side.

Bruce was born on March 26, 1950, to Eugene and Connie Koepp in Rice Lake, WI. He was the oldest of four children. The family moved to Lake Elmo, MN where Bruce attended school, graduating from Stillwater High School in 1968.

Bruce enjoyed his career at 3M in St. Paul, MN before taking an early retirement after decades of service. Later, Bruce joined his wife at HCMC in Minneapolis, MN working several more years until his eventual retirement in 2012.

Bruce was an avid history lover, watching numerous documentaries and reading many books on the topic. He enjoyed spending time tracking his ancestry back many generations, loved classic cars, storytelling and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed traveling the country with his family in their camper and spending time at their summer retreat near Clear Lake in Waseca, MN. In retirement, he and his wife together, fostered 55 puppies with Ruff Start Rescue, which provided much joy in their lives. Bruce will be greatly missed by his wife, children, siblings, and many friends.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Lora; a daughter Jen (Jeff) Lecy of Minneapolis, MN; a son Ryan (Melissa) Koepp of Stillwater, MN; step-sons Jason Duncan of Issaquah, Washington, Joshua (Emily) Duncan of Chisago City, MN, Justin (Darcey) Duncan of Stacy, MN and grandchildren; Eleanor, Charlie and Franklin Lecy, John and Jacob Koepp, Ethan and Parker Duncan and Hailey Duncan. He is also survived by his three siblings; Brad Koepp of Bayport, MN, Pam (Scott) Grady of Stillwater, MN and Paula (Tom) McHugh of Stillwater, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, MN. The family will hold a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Ruff Start Rescue in Princeton, MN
