Obituary of David Arthur Collette

David Arthur Collette, Jr. passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016, in Golden Oaks in Proctor. David was born on May 26, 1932, to David and Margaret (Wilson) Collette in Rock Island, Ill. He served in the Marine Reserves and always felt in touch with the motto: "Once a Marine always a Marine." He worked for Superwood and Willie's Automatic Transmission and later opened his own transmission and repair shop. He retired to Iron River, and later moved to Apache Junction, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Margie; sons, Michael and Thomas and daughter, Nellie Anderson; his brother, Douglas; sisters, Delores Baker and Lillian Neve and brother-in-law Phillip Burkland. David is survived by son, James (Barbara) of Duluth; grandchildren, Ted (Michelle), Leah, Rachael, Luke, Cecil (Amanda), Jesse, Dillon, Cheyenne and Nicki; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Carolyn) and Leroy (Judy); sisters, Elaine (Ed) Grono, Rita (Larry) Bussa and Carlotta (David Mayfield) Collette as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. David's family would like to thank Edgewood Vista and Golden Oaks for the excellent care given to him.
