Obituary of Todd William Peterson

Todd William Peterson passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at the age of 80 on January 18th, 2024.

He battled through cancer since his initial diagnosis in 2017, and lived life to the fullest each day while appreciating every moment spent with family and friends. Todd was a proud resident of Bloomington, MN for his entire life and raised his three sons there with the love of his life, Barb for their nearly 60-year marriage. In addition to his successful career in sales at Greif Brothers,

Todd was extensively involved in the community as President of the Bloomington Jaycees, President of the Bloomington Area Athletic Association, President of the Bloomington Area Hockey Association, and as a coach for many of his boys’ sports teams. Todd was a car fanatic, a gym rat, the king of Halloween, and loved being outdoors. He wore many hats and had many hobbies, but the one he was most proud of was being a family man. He had 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and he could almost always be found at their sporting events, activities, concerts, and major life events often pulling up in his Mustang convertible and muscle shirt. He was a well-loved and an easily recognized member of every crowd at these events, often finding friends he knew to talk with or making new friends easily. Everyone who knew and loved Todd could count on his unwavering love and support and he will be dearly missed.

Todd is survived by his wife, Barb, sons, Chris (Kerry), Chad (Molly), Cory (Tegan), grandchildren, Zoë (Kevin), Nick, Anna, Gabriela, Jase, Jake, Dylan, Logan, and Soren, great grandchildren, Owen and Ellie, as well as siblings, Barry and Meg.

A public memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, at 2pm at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, MN with visitation prior to the service at 1pm. Refreshments will be provided after the service.
