In 1966, Bruce was drafted into the Army; he served in Vietnam in the Signal Corps as an Electronics Technician Operator, specifically in Cryptology. He was very proud of his time and spoke of it fondly and how it was one of the best times in his life.
On February 8, 1975, Bruce married Audrey Hove; they welcomed their son Adam in 1980. Bruce was an entrepreneur, owning and operating several dry cleaning stores in the Twin Cities for most of his career. He enjoyed interacting with his customers and meeting new people. Bruce held various jobs after leaving the dry cleaning business and retired from his job as a boiler engineer at the Veterans Home in 2009.
Bruce was very outgoing, talking with everyone he could. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, yard work, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. If there was ever a time you couldn’t find him, just look outside. He would be in the garden or on his tractor. Bruce had motorcycles his entire life and loved taking trips with his friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Olive Greiner, and his wife, Audrey.
Bruce is survived by his son, Adam; his grandchildren, Harrison and Isla; two brothers, Tom (Chris) and Kent; and numerous nephews. He will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery next to Audrey.
