Obituary of Frank T Abbott
Frank T. Abbott, 99, lifelong resident of Superior passed away on January 13, 2024 surrounded by his family in Duluth, MN. He was born on March 26, 1924. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1941. Frank served in the Navy during WWII. While he was temporarily stationed in upstate New York, he met his future wife, Gloria Abbott (D’agostino). They were married on June 29, 1946, and celebrated 58 years of marriage until she passed away in 2004. They raised three wonderful sons, Tom, Larry and Jim. He was also like a second father to his cousins Helene, Joe and Pat.
Frank was a long time member of the Holy Assumption Catholic Church in Superior. He was also a member of the Superior Bowling Hall of Fame rolling a perfect 300 game at the age of 76. Frank was a skilled Master Plumber working at UWS in maintenance for many years until his retirement in 1986. During his long and happy retirement, he enjoyed many hobbies and visits with friends and family over the years. Frank was the patriarch of our family, he was always there to tell a story, give advice when you needed it, love us unconditionally and was always there to listen. Above all family came first for Frank. We all share the same love and respect for this amazing man and will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria; sons, Tom and Larry; brother, Tony (Bessie) Abbott; sisters, Yolanda (Tom) Plesko, Anna (John) Plesko and Gerry (Mike) Arezzo.
