In Loving Memory of Jean Marie Boyd
Jean Marie Boyd (Vezner), age 90, of Minneapolis, MN, peacefully passed away on January 17,
2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Jean was born on June 22, 1933 in Minneapolis to her loving parents William and Bertha
Vezner. She was the youngest of six siblings. In her early years, Jean attended Immanuel
Lutheran School and completed her education at North High School. Throughout her life, she
demonstrated a passion for learning and readily embraced new experiences.
Jean was a dedicated and loving wife to her beloved husband Ronald Clayton Boyd. Together,
they shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Jean and Ron found solace and contentment in
two places they called home: Texas and Minnesota. Whether it was the warmth and rich culture
of Texas or the serene landscapes of Minnesota, Jean found beauty and comfort in both
locations.
Jean was blessed with four children who brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life: Scott
(Diane) Boyd, Peggy (Patrick) Skinner, Mark Boyd, and Robin (Bruce) Van Valkenburg. She
took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and cherished the time spent together
as a family. As her family continued to grow, Jean was blessed with the love and laughter of her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought an abundance of joy and happiness into
her life.
Over the years, Jean pursued various professional endeavors. She worked as a stewardess,
spreading her wings and exploring the world while making lasting connections along the way.
Later, she dedicated her time as a member of the Sears security team, ensuring the safety and
well-being of others.
Besides her professional achievements, Jean possessed a range of creative talents. She was a
skilled quilter, pouring her heart and soul into each stitch as she meticulously crafted beautiful
and intricate quilts. Additionally, she found joy in crochet and embroidery, allowing her to
express her creativity and uplift those around her with her handmade creations.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, her parents, and her siblings.
Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and adored
great grandmother. Her memory will live on through the love and values she instilled in her
family, the lasting relationships and friendships she nurtured, and the legacy of her creative
handiwork.
Jean Marie Boyd, you will forever be missed and loved. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
A private memorial will be held later this spring.
