Obituary of Marjorie Marie DeGraw

Marjorie Marie DeGraw, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 18th, 2024, at the age of 80.

Marjorie was born on February 21st, 1943. in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph and Elsie O'Rourke. On August 19, 1961, she married her sweetheart, Theodore Frank DeGraw Jr., who preceded her in death after 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Family meant everything to Marjorie. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom for 15 years before earning her nursing degree and working at Health East, Bethesda, Midway and St. John's Hospitals.

Marjorie loved celebrating life's special moments, big and small. She embraced her Irish heritage and taught her family to find joy in every occasion. Cooking, puzzles, and time with loved ones also brought Marjorie happiness.

Marjorie is survived by her children Ted (Kathy), Todd (Tammy), Tina Kraemer (George), Trisha Topp (Matt); grandchildren Josh, Joe, Heather, Holly, Michael, Jill, Krista, Amber, Taylor, Emma, Sophie; 10 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Also survived by her sister Theresa, and sisters-in-law Dee and Linda.

Marjorie will be deeply missed, but her love and vibrant spirit will live on through her family and friends.

Our family will forever be grateful for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Brian Miller of the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Allina and the entire United Hospital Care Team. Their medical expertise and compassionate care gave us peace of mind.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring at St. Matthew Catholic Church in St. Paul with a private interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
