Obituary of Anthony James Malterud

Anthony James Malterud 

Passed away unexpectedly due to complications of Diabetes on January 16th at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville MN at the age of 41.  Tony was a resident of Farmington MN where he shared a home with his Fiancé Kristine and his 2 children Christopher and Avery.

Tony was born October 23rd 1982 in Owatonna MN he was the loving son of JoAnn (Arnold) Saxton and Gordon Malterud 

Tony graduated in 2001 from Apple Valley High school, he worked as a Auto Mechanic his entire adult life and the last 5 years he was employed at Honest-1 in West Bloomington MN.

Tony was passionate about cars, wrenching,  football,  hockey and car racing.  Tony loved all types of music and a good game of cards or cribbage.  Tony always enjoyed lending a helping hand to others, but most of all he Loved Kristine, his boys, family and friends. 

Preceded in death by his Father,  Gordon James Malterud,  New Prague MN, Grandparents Robert and Marie (Noske) Arnold, Owatonna MN, Grandparents,  James and Janet (Roberts) Malterud,  Bemidji MN, Grandfather, James Saxton, Apple Valley MN.

Survived by his Fiancé, Kristine Walters, Farmington MN,  parents  William and JoAnn (Arnold) Saxton, Ramsey MN, children Christopher and Avery, Farmington MN, step brother, John and Mindy (Gerloff) Saxton, Arvada CO, step sister, Laura Saxton, Columbia Heights MN, grandmother,  Barbara Saxton, Apple Valley MN. 

Celebration of life for Tony will be Sunday, January 28th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota,  7110 France Ave. S  Edina, MN. 55435 from 1pm to 4pm; 1pm Visitation/ Social; 2pm Service; 3pm Lunch
