Obituary of Kent Gary Hostetler
Kent Gary Hostetler, 63, of Minnesota, revved his last engine on December 31, 2023. Born on September 6, 1960, in Mankato, MN, Kent was a true horsepower enthusiast, racing through life with gusto. He leaves behind a trail of memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Kent was a mechanical extraordinaire, reaching the Gold Level Master Tech early in his career. With his trusty wrench in hand, he fixed cars like a champ. He was a graduate of William Kelley High School and fine-tuned his skills at Dunwoody Institute.
When he wasn't tinkering under the hood, Kent embraced the great outdoors like a true adventurer. He blazed trails on his snowmobile, conquered rugged terrains on his 4-wheeler, and glided across lakes on water skis. He even knew how to make a splash on the slopes with his snow skiing skills. Kent was a master of all seasons.
Kent had a need for speed and a passion for sports. He could often be found enjoying the thrill of auto racing or cheering on his beloved Minnesota Vikings. His enthusiasm for the game was as strong as his love for his family. Kent's memory will forever be cherished by his pit crew of loved ones. He is survived by his brothers, Mark and Bruce (Ellen) Hostetler; sister, Linda (Mike) Grabow; children, Candice (Josh) Strohman and Kristy (Karl) Brecht; grandchildren, Drew Hostetler and Caleb Strohman; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Brian) Land, Phil Hostetler, Tim Grabow, Andrea Grabow, Noel (Lydia) Lillis, Amber (Michael) Skinner, Robby (Sonya) Lillis, Jessica (Nick) Bockovich, Mellissa (Denise) Clark, Miranda Clark, Adelia Clark, Curt (Megan) Moe, Greg (Kim) Moe, Kelsey (Tim) Mealey, Lindsay (Tracy) Pearson, and Mitchell Ness. He is now reunited with his wife, Kyla, and his parents, Gary and Kay.
Kent's love extended beyond his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for animals, caring for countless dogs throughout his life; survived by his faithful puppy, Daisy. His compassion for furry friends knew no bounds.
To honor Kent's vibrant spirit, a Celebration of Life service will be held on January 21, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at the French Visitors Center - Oakwood Room, located at 12605 Rockford Road, Plymouth, MN 55441. We invite you to share your favorite memories of Kent starting at 1:00 PM. In true Kent fashion, we kindly request that you come dressed casually, sporting MN Vikings attire, purple & gold, or anything that fuels the memory of this remarkable man.
Assisting with the arrangements and ensuring Kent's journey to the great racetrack in the sky is the Cremation Society of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN.
Kent Hostetler's tireless spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed. As we bid farewell to our mechanic maestro, let us keep his memory alive by cherishing the joy he brought to our lives. Kent, may you continue to race among the stars, leaving a trail of laughter and love in your wake.
