Obituary of Donnajane Marie Holland

Donnajane Marie Holland (nee Strunge), 86 of Foley, MN, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the Gardens of Foley.  She was born on February 5, 1937, in St. Paul, MN to Thomas and Louise Strunge. She was united in marriage to Roger Allen Holland on January 2, 1960, in Princeton. Donna grew up in Princeton and after her marriage lived in Tioga, N. Dakota, New Ulm, MN, and Buffalo before moving to Maple Lake where they raised their family and moved to Milaca and Princeton to retire.

Donnajane, known to her family and friends as Donna, was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in law and aunt.  She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Braun of Princeton and Marilyn Squire (fiancé Larry Klemek) of Bertha. Donna also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother Dan (Linda) Strunge, sister Barbara Strunge, sister-in-law Janice Holland and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents Thomas and Louise, sisters Beverly Bakos, Marlene Simonsmeier and brother Jerry Strunge.

Donna had a passion for gardening and was known for her beautiful flower arrangements which she shared with many people.  She also enjoyed selling Christmas trees and making Christmas wreaths, bringing joy to others during the holiday season.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 6th, at the Princeton VFW Hall, located at 135 Rum River Drive, Princeton, MN, from 1-3 pm. Please join Donna’s family and friends as they come together to remember her life and the impact that she had on those around her.

The family would like to thank the Gardens of Foley and Moments Hospice for the care and compassion that she received while in their care.

Interment will be at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with her husband at a future date.
