Obituary of Dawn Marie Seger
Dawn Marie Seger, 56, of Poplar, Wisconsin passed away December 4, 2023 peacefully after a painful but brief 3 month battle with cancer. Dawn was a friend to all and touched everyone with her kindness. She loved to garden, especially flowers and had a prolific green thumb. She was an avid Lego builder and enjoyed playing “Pokemon Go” with her son-in-law Ryan and granddaughter Aria, creating a very special bond. Dawn enjoyed her lake time and special lake friends. When it came time to change career paths, Anna was her biggest cheerleader, encouraging her to go back to school for nursing. Her passion for being a nurse allowed her to care for people. Her boys Dusty and Quentin remember how she would teach them a tough life lesson without realizing they were being taught.
On August 20, 1994, Dawn was united in marriage to Fred. In Dawn's last hours, Fred wrote this poem:
I wrote down a short story to tell,
I can not speak it to you because I am not doing well.
32 years ago I met you, the woman that changed my life.
A co-worker, then a friend, then the rock of my of life.
Now I call you my wife.
She gave me three beautiful children.
All we went through, we fought hard and came through.
The thick and thin.
I always needed to see her again.
Remember the good times and how strong she was.
Because I learned no one is truly gone until they are forgotten.
I will never forget.
Until my vessel has been set to rest,
then I will see her in Heaven where we will start over again.
Living family members include her husband, Fred Seger, children, Anna (Ryan) Raprager, Dusty Seger, and Quentin Seger, grandchildren, Carson, Aria, Zander, Felicity, Layton, and Quinley. Her father, David Gautsch Sr., her mother, Donna Reed, siblings, Dave Gautsch, Tyrone Gautsch, Tanya Brackett, Roni Postal, and Darcy Hellgren, along with her mother-in-law, Lee Seger-Henderson.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday January 20, at 2pm at The Mission Covenant Church in Poplar Wisconsin.
