Obituary of Cassandra Jean Haley
Cassandra Jean Haley (1990-2023)
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our beloved daughter, Cassey Haley, who valiantly fought against Prader-Willi Syndrome for 33 years. Throughout her remarkable journey, her dad, mom, and additional mom, Yeleika, stood by her side, providing unwavering support and love. Her smile always lit up the room and was infectious to those that knew her. We will miss her dearly.
Cassey was born August 19,1990 at the Naval Air Station Cubi Point in the Philippines. She was a resident of The AME House in Golden Valley, MN.
Cassey graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2009. Her hope was always to be a part of a sports team, and playing with the South Suburban Sports Flyers for 5 years brought her that feeling of camaraderie that she desired. But it was the unbreakable bond of her family and close friends that supported her through all her endeavors and life experiences, that brought her the greatest joy. Alongside family and friends, she delighted in the outdoors, cherished animals, and always radiated her infectious smile to all that were around her. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of strength and resilience, leaving an indelible imprint in our hearts. Gone too soon.
Survived by her parents Matthew Haley, and Anchela Haley, Her devoted additional mom, Yeleika Haley; siblings, Jeremy, Riley, Sofia and Isabella Haley ; her grandparents, Janice and Paul Bartone and grandmother Aurelia Patanao; loving great aunts and great uncles, aunts and uncles, and many cousins, friends, and her many caregivers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 11, at 2:00 PM at Grace Church, Eden Prairie, MN, Door 2. The family will receive friends and family after the service at Grace Church in its adjoining reception room. Memorial will be live streamed and potentially recorded.
